Can You Take St. Johns Wort?

11/19/2009

Question:

can you take st. john`s wort with an antidepressant called celexa.

Answer:

I would not recommend using these two medications together. There is a "potential" for significant difficulties, depending on the dose of these medications and the sensitivity with individual patients. Generally, the derived benefits of celexa at an adequate dose is all that is necessary for most patients.
