What does it mean if I can`t swallow? I do have acid reflux (medicine isn`t working). If I think about it and relax I am then able to swallow. It is a scary feeling.
There are many things that can impact swallowing, so without getting more information and conducting a full examination, it is quite difficult to answer your question. Acid reflux can impair the ability of your swallowing muscles to relax, which in turn can make it more difficult for food to go down. Your best bet is to see an ENT physician or gastroenterologist.
