IV Missed Vein Now I Have Shocking Pains

03/17/2010

Question:

Last week when I was in my oncologist`s lab recieving iron through IV. The nurse that was putting in the IV on the inside of my right wrist missed the vein, and I got a really bad shocking pain that shot through my right hand and my whole right arm. She took the IV out and placed it somewhere else. It has been a week now and I am still having shocking pains in my right hand and fingers if I move them a certain way. What is this pain and will it go away!!?? It feels like an electrical shock! It really hurts!
