Eye and Vision Care

Laser Eye Surgery

06/24/2010

Question:

I am over 50 years old. My vision is getting worse and worse and is nearly 300 over. I am curious about eye laser treatment, can this help to at least prevent any further damage to my eyes? What would you suggest? Thank you.

Answer:

I am sorry that you are having trouble with your vision.  There are many, many different kinds of eye and vision problems.  Some of them can be helped with laser treatment, but most cannot.  From what you have written, it is difficult to know which kind of problem you may have.

To find out if you have an eye problem that can be fixed with a laser, you will need to get a full eye examination and to ask that doctor.  You might also ask for a copy of your records and ask for written information about your eye condition so that you can learn more about it.
