I’m 30 Years Old Could I Have Cystic Fibrosis11/16/2010 |
I am 30 years old and was told that i have sinsus polyps and i have suffered with alot of digestive trouble including colon polyps should I be concerned
Many things can cause sinus polyps and digestive trouble. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is one disease that can have these symptoms.
It is not impossible for older persons to have mild or atypical symptoms of CF and have a delayed diagnosis. There are reports of CF being diagnosed in patients in their 70s. This late diagnosis with milder symptoms is sometimes referred to as "non-classic" CF.
It may be worthwhile to be evaluated by a physician who has experience with CF. They can determine if testing is appropriate in your case. The best place for evaluation is an accredited CF center. A list of these is available on the CF Foundation website: http://www.cff.org/.
