Urine culture & sensitivity test06/02/2011 |
My wife has frequent UTI`s and sometimes she gives a urine sample along with other bloood tests. Be cause her viens are tiny the Lab askes her to load up on water. Then when the Urine tests come back there is no or just a trace of bacteria. She has symptoms like burnig, oder etc. Is it possible that she is diluting the test by flushing her uriary tract with water...in other words "washing the bacteria out"?
Your wife may be washing the bacteria out and clearing the infection by drinking water. However, if her symptoms of burning and odor persist despite negative cultures, she should see her physician or urologist to be sure there are not other causes for her symptoms.
