Because of my family history of colon cancer plus recent weight loss (not initially a bad thing, getting problematic), bright and dark blood in the stool and both diarrhea and constipation.. I tried to schedule a colonoscopy at a dozen places without sedation (I know it`s harder, but several attempts at sedation have almost killed me).
I would not attempt sedation again. I asked my PCP about alternatives to a colonoscopy; she said that there were not any in my case.
I was baffled as to why I was meeting with such resistance with scheduling an unsedated colonoscopy.
Any ideas as to how to get an unsedated colonoscopy? Thanks.
