Kidneys Enlarged Post Operation

09/20/2011

Question:

My son had a left side pyroplasty 16 mths ago and started passing blood. The a&e said he had infection and gave antibiotic and said to phone for the results. No infection found and no further action required. Is this right? They only felt stomach (tender on left side) and took sample.

Answer:

The best course of action would be to make an appointment with the surgeon that performed the procedure for a full evaluation including a follow-up ultrasound of the kidneys and bladder.
