Question:

I have been having a few problems with my mouth, starting with 2 small bumps that cam for about a week and left and sever heartburn. However my GP said it was Acid Reflux and gave me prilosec. Those bumps have since shrunk down and only inflame when i eat certain things. However now there is a hard bump connected to my torus palatinus (T.P.). I have had a T.P. for as long as I remember but the bump on the side has just shown up this week. Could it potentially be cancer. By the way I don`t have health insurance and in limited in my professional resources.

Any advice would be helpful.

Since you do not give a location or exact size for the 2 small bumps, it is difficult to provide any feedback on those. A torus palatinus can grow and change over time.
 
If a new hard ‘bump’ has developed, it most likely represents a small growth of new bone that has arisen from the surface of the underlying bone that formed the torus years ago.

It is very unlikely that this new hard bump could represent a cancer. Nevertheless, you should see your dentist or an oral surgeon if it seems to be growing rapidly or becomes painful.
