Kids Fitness Equipment

A local community center is offering a fitness program for children ages 6-12 years old that combines kids fitness equipment with other gym activities. The equipment uses no weights, just resistance, so it is supposed to be totally safe; kids can only lift or work muscles up to the amount they can handle. Have you heard of this kind of equipment and what do you think of it? Is it safe for children?
