Prostate Cancer

The prostate gland is about the size of a walnut, and surrounds the male urethra at the base of the bladder.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer found in American men. The good news is that if the disease is caught early, many men can be cured, and many others can live a long, relatively normal life.

Approximately 30 percent of men over the age of 50 have some very small evidence of prostate cancer. Only a small percentage of these tiny cancers will develop into an active cancer.
